A new generation of missionaries who carry nothing but a 60L backpack.
Young, restless, sent. We listen to the Holy Spirit and go — no fixed plan, no home on earth, just faith and a backpack.
We went first. Now we pass it on.
BPMs have carried the backpack through 30 countries and built a community of more than 24,000 along the way. Now we want to share what we learned — and train and coach the next generation to do the same.
You wouldn't be joining an idea. You'd be trained and coached by people who have already walked it.
Raise up a new generation of young backpack missionaries that listen and obey the Holy Spirit.
Vision
Not a program. A movement that multiplies on its own.
Sent
People go where the Spirit leads, not where the plan says.
Multiply
Every BPM disciples others wherever they land.
The unfit, the restless, the faithful
~23 years old, often male. Longing for more. Outdoor. Active. Always in motion.
Doesn't fit the system
Restless inside conventional structures.
Often not liked by institutions
Too much energy for most churches to hold.
Believes in miracles
Expects God to actually show up.
Finds the "man of peace"
Has a nose for the open door in a new place.
No fear of persecution
Counts the cost and goes anyway.
The House of Peace
In every new place there is one open door — one person of peace (Luke 10). A BPM walks until he finds it. We stay in that house, serve that family, and the gospel spreads from there. The trail always ends at a House of Peace.
Five non-negotiable principles
My life is prayer & mission
The two are inseparable. Not a job — a way of living.
No home on earth
Mobile by design. We travel light and stay free.
A 60L backpack — nothing more
Everything you own fits on your back. A real constraint.
Not by plan, but by faith
We move on guidance, not on a fixed itinerary.
Radical obedience to God
When the Spirit says go, we go. No hedging.
